In contrast, to their name, New Zealand’s Antix—aka the brothers Barton and Hayden Strom—are sounding slightly less antic on ‘Cavalier’, their fourth album. That’s not to say that they’ve turned their backs on the dancefloor; there are plenty of tough grooves to carry festival crowds through the peak hour. But ‘Cavalier’ also finds them experimenting with more laid-back electronica styles, while remixes from Hernan Cattaneo, Djuma Soundsystem, Jamie Stevens and more stray even further from the progressive-house status quo.
