When Richie Hawtin announced the resurrection of his ‘Plastikman‘ moniker as well as an associated live tour, fans worldwide began clamoring for information. Richie’s performances as Plastikman have set a high standard for what a live, interactive electronic stage show can and should be, with near-obserssive attention paid to seamlessly integrating lights, sound and stage show into an unforgettable experience.
Richie’s web site has confirmed that the ‘Plastikman’ tour will make a stop at Movement 2010, Detroit’s annual Memorial Day weekend music festival which historically attracts the world’s top talent. Richie’s Platstikman live show will headline the opening day of the festival.
When questioned about the decision to perform as Plastikman once again, Richie said, “It has always fascinated me how sound, lighting, visuals, and human interactivity define and deepen a concert experience. By focusing on my own unique Plastikman sound I hope to find new freedom and explore the extremes of where these elements converge, challenging our senses, stimulating our memories, and creating an experience of physical and mental intensity that can only be Plastikman.”
Movement 2010 takes place May 29-31 in Detroit’s Hart Plaza.
